Teaching Session #55 - Sunday 12th February 2023 6.30pm
The Book of Hosea
Main speaker - Rev. Catharina Olssen Gislescog
Host for the evening - Graham Wilkins
Catharina writes:
"The book of Hosea in the ‘minor prophets’ of the Bible is a story of passionate love. It is the story of God’s love for his people – exemplified through the prophet Hosea’s love for his wife Gomer. Although she is a prostitute, Hosea married her following the command from God to do so! The book begins with the story of Hosea’s wife and children then moves on to a number of prophetic sayings. The message is about doom and hope, punishment and forgiveness, discipline and love. Hosea is a good example of how prophets personified the message God spoke to them by living it out. He lived c.786-746BC and prophesied c.750-722BC. Come and learn more on Sunday evening 12 February at 6.30pm."
