Teaching Session #22 - 14 July 2019
Psalms - 1 and 2
Main speaker - Tim Barrow
Leader for the evening - David Wilkins
Tim writes:
"Whether through BREXIT or deteriorating global relationships, our world continues to have the appearance of being insecure and unstable and one sometimes wonders if the Lord is truly sovereign and steering world events to His desired end, or whether the forces of atheism, liberalism and humanism ultimately determine our global destiny?
The fundamental issue raised in Psalm 2 is ‘control’ – the struggle for control and the ability to break free from control on a global scale. Through three dramatic scenes the believer is reassured beyond doubt by God’s response to conspiring global leaders who would seek to dethrone and usurp His sovereign control."
We will also be looking at the whole book of Psalms - the Bible is a collection of books, and Psalms is a collection of poetry/songs. What connects them, why are they there, and what are they really about? Come and find out!
